Ekadashi Vrat Parana

Ekadashi Vrat Parana

On Dwadashi, one should serve food to the Brahmin first.

Those are unable to serve the cooked food should donate raw materials for Brahmin Bhoja on a decorated plate directly in the temple or to a deserving Brahmin. Parana is prohibited during Hari Vasara.

If the devotees observing the Ekadashi fast can follow all the rules with full devotion, then this fast will prove greatly fruitful for them.

Its fast should be observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha when Margashirsha month arrives in the Hemant season. Its procedure is as follows - Men and women should always remain united on Dashami with a pure heart and eat food only once a day. The period when the sun's brightness fades in the eighth part of the day should be known as Nakta. Eating at night is not Nakta.

There is a rule for all married men and women to eat Nakta Bhojan when the stars are visible and for Sannyasis, food is prohibited during the eighth part of the day i.e. at night.
